Channelle Martin has dedicated the last 12 years of her life to improving the lives of people living with physical and intellectual disabilities. Her desire to help others stems from growing up with a close family member who had an intellectual disability, who spent most of his young life fighting for inclusion. Watching her family fight for what would seem like an inherent right to an education and quality of life motivated Channelle to advocate for those who could not or did not know how to advocate for themselves. While in high school Channelle had the opportunity to work in the classroom setting, assisting peers who had either a physical or intellectual disability, in general education classes. From high school Channelle spent 7 years working in a group home setting, 6 of those years as a house manager. Channelle transferred to their BMP where she served as their Program Manager for 2.5 years. Channelle spent 1 year working as an ILS Case Manager serving people with intellectual and physical disabilities in their own homes. Channelle has worked for Networx for the last 2 years working as a direct support provider. Channelle is excited at the opportunity to serve such a diverse population and to gain more experience in the field.
